O. Leiva

Leyva, born 54 years ago. Inspired in the customs and varied Mexican cultures; she uses the colors, nature, traditional clothing, tequila, animals, alebrijes, music and specially the Mariachi as a base for her work.

Every trip to the interior of Mexico is represented in her series of cubist/expressionist skeletons; couples with glares overflowing with feelings, surrounded by the sun and moon in the colors.

Her charming skeletal characters represent life after death.

A folkloric idea, spectacular, that gives us an illusion of the afterlife, a happy life, complete and fulfilling.

Every stroke shows us her commitment with art translating her emotions with line that celebrate the movement of the mexican characters in their own unique stories. Accompanied with musical instruments that have melodies created with the heart, imagination, brush and diverse colors.
