F. ESPINOZA

Lottas was born in Mexico City and now lives full-time in Playa del Carmen. He has trained under many prominent Mexican artists and printmakers, including Ángel Collazo, Agustín González, Alejandro Morfín, Quintín Valdez, and Maestro Luis Nishizawa at the Nishizawa Museum.

Throughout his career, Lottas has participated in over 14 group exhibitions both across Mexico and internationally—including shows in London and Chicago—as well as multiple solo exhibitions at The Isla de Cozumel Museum in Cozumel, Mexico.

Today, his work is represented by various galleries in Mexico and Germany. He has also received accolades for his printmaking and has showcased his art at international art fairs in Paris and Germany.

While he is best known as a master printmaker specializing in techniques such as linocut, woodcut, relief printing, and drypoint, Lottas is also an accomplished painter working with acrylic, oil, and encaustic wax.

He holds a diploma in art restoration and gold leafing from the prestigious School of Gold & Color in Florence, Italy, a specialized skill he frequently incorporates into his contemporary paintings.

A defining and unique element of his printmaking is his choice of substrate: he prints on traditional Amate paper, meticulously handcrafted from agave plant fibers.
